bath time!

so this morning we gave paisley her first bath!

she hated it!
we haven't had her nails clipped yet, so it wasn't as much fun for us either!

but we got her done and smells so good and her coat is so silky! love this little babe!

Meet Paisley!

So we finally closed on our house last week! we are so excited to start this new chapter in our lives! we have been painting and getting the house ready like crazy, and we got to sleep there on wednesday night!
the day we closed on our house we also found our new baby that we just added to our family! Paisley!!
we got to pick her up on thursday and the second night we stayed at our new home we also had our new puppy! i am so lucky!
she's 11 weeks and has been such a good puppy! she doesn't cry, doesn't bark, she's only had one accident, loves the car, and going shopping! she came to work with me yesterday because paul was moving the rest of our stuff in all day and we didn't want her to be in the way or locked in her kennel all day! SHE DID SO GOOD AT WORK! all she did was sleep! i'm not kidding, i took her out to go potty and that's it. she didn't budge even when people would come in or the phone would ring! i'm a proud mama!

Mummy Meat Balls

Floating Ice Hand

Fruit Pizza Spiderweb

Spiderweb Cupcakes

Mummy Cupcakes

Carrot Pumpkin
So i've had this fetish with peacocks and owls lately. i decided that i wanted to be a peacock for halloween this year! so i started on my adventure for seeking my costume. i didn't like anything that was out there, so i decided i was making it all! the craft store soon became my best friend!
4 feather boas, 2 packages of loose feathers, lots of glitter, fabric for my skirt, two strands of elastic, different feathers and jewels for my hair piece, peacock earrings, luscious eyelashes, vibrant eyeshadow, and 62 peacock feathers later... Ta Da!

up close and personal..

the party was a success and everyone had a good time! the only thing missing was paul.. he tried for two months to get saturday, october 30 off, and still couldn't. that was so lame! but we'll try again next year! we had fun taking the kids around trick or treating too! aiden was such a hoot, he just loved every minute of it. he would get right up there and keep knocking until someone came to the door, in his soft little knock that you could barely hear. and then stay there even after they shut the door! cute little man!

sunday dinner was a hit i believe! rayann and her family got to actually come over and spend time with us! so i of course wanted to do something "halloweenie" :) i made potato cheese soup with mashed potato ghosts and bread stick bones! my dad called them dog bones, which i know they do look more like dog bones than human bones.. but it was the thought that counts! i didn't take the picture soon enough either so the ghost started melting a little bit.. but they actually turned out kind of cute! and i was quite proud of myself for making something that tasted pretty good too!

so paul got the last half of work off on saturday, so we got to spend the evening playing games, watching movies, and carving pumpkins! it was the first time paul and i have ever carved pumpkins together! i cherish these moments! :)

Could you have expected anything else from him?

She's funny!

it was actually quite fun!
we got four pumpkins that came with four free 2 liters of soda for six bucks! what a deal!

So we always have a big party for Halloween, and i've been really getting into the spirit this year! I have found so many cute things that would be fun for our party, but realize that there are way too many to do all in one night.. so i've decided to try and spread them out and try to do a couple a week until Halloween! It's been so fun coming up with ideas!
Now as many of you know i am not a very good cook, but i really really want to become one! (or even be able to at least just do the basics! ) so i thought i would take advantage of this while we are living at my parents house.. (we just moved in on monday while we are in transition to move into our house..) and learn some tricks from my mama!
We chose to just do a classic the other night.. Caramel Apples! i learned that you don't want to let them sit at all if you want to put nuts on them.. they harden way too fast and the nuts won't stick.

They aren't the pretties things on the planet...

But they were sure delicious!

none the less, my sister, mom, and i had fun making them together!
stay tuned for more fun things to come!
Happy Halloween!

wow, where to begin... this summer has been so full of amazing experiences! i wish i could freeze time to enjoy them longer! time is going by SO fast.. i sure do love my sweet husband. he is my everything! i love his patience, his sweet words of encouragement, his sacrifices, and his willingness to put up with me! i can't wait for the day when i get to see him more.. if that ever may be possible?! though we are grateful we both have wonderful jobs, it's been so hard for me going days at a time not seeing each other.. and i think what makes it harder is that we still sleep next to each other every night, but with our complete opposite schedules, it makes it very hard to ever spend time together let alone even hold a conversation! my heart is even fuller these past few days as we have really been considering paul joining the guard.. knowing that my time with him will be cut even more.. but, i think we are feeling more and more that this will be a great opportunity for him to further his career and support our family in the long run.

i am so grateful for the opportunity paul and i had to go to africa together this summer. it was such an incredible experience and to share it together was ... i am at a loss of words to even describe how i feel. just our relationship alone and the way we treat each other and talk to each other has grown for the better, much better! there are some experiences close to my heart that happened in africa that i will have to update you on at a later date, when i can try to gather all my thoughts and actually type them in..
until then, take care!
